This symposium will be the second students' conference of its kind at the Czech Technical University in Prague. This students' conference is intended to provide an interdisciplinary forum for the students and practitioners interested in fields of optics, optometry, ophthalmology, and related fields. The purpose is to connect these fields of eye care and offer the students a possibility to present  their work and research and meet with other students, graduates, mentors and lecturers from different universities and countries that will help them in their studies and further practice. The forum represents an excellent opportunity for students to stay informed, acquire new knowledge, and discuss about their work and research. Students' conference Optics and Optometry Forum 2018 is focused on presentations of work and research of students from optics, optometry, ophthalmology, and related fields. Practical workshops with modern ophthalmic instruments will complement invited lectures and student presentations. Participants can look forward to a wide range of lectures by Czech and foreign students and mentors. The language of the conference is English. There is no conference fee for registered participants.

The Bachelor paramedical field of study "Optics and Optometry" was opened in the Czech Technical University in the academic year 2009/2010.
